LOCATIONS FOR OFF-SITE ACTIVITIES
South Tibwin Trail
Approximately 3 miles south of McClellanville on left. From the Sewee Center, take Highway 17 North toward McClellanville for 13 miles. Traveling from the Center, the South Tibwin Trail sign and parking area will be located on the east side of Hwy 17.
Tibwin Plantation Site
Approximately 3.5 miles south of McClellanville on left. From the Sewee Center, take Highway 17 North toward McClellanville for 12.5 miles. Traveling from the Center, Forest Service Rd 249 (small dirt drive) to the Tibwin Plantation site will be located on the east side of Hwy 17, directly across from the St. James Santee Family Health Center (Tibwin Lane/Rd S-1335)
Hampton Plantation State Historic Site
1950 Rutledge Rd, McClellanville, SC 29458. From the Sewee Center, take Highway 17 North approximately 23 miles north (9 miles north of McClellanville) then turn left on Rutledge Rd/Rd S-10-857. Proceed for approx. 2.5 miles to the entrance (Rd S-10-2204) of the SC Hampton Plantation State Historic Site. Large sign at the entrance.
Garris Landing
390 Bulls Island Rd, Awendaw SC 29429. Approximately 11 miles north of the Market at Oakland shopping center (Walmart Supercenter), Mt Pleasant. From the shopping center, travel north on Highway 17, drive 6 miles and turn right onto Sewee Rd/Rd S-10-584 (directly past Dollar General Store). Travel approximately 3.5 miles on Sewee Rd; turn right onto Bulls Island Rd/Rd S-10-1170 and drive about 1.5 miles to Garris Landing parking area. From McClellanville, travel south on Hwy 17 approximately 13 miles and turn left on Doar Rd; from Doar Rd, turn right onto Sewee Rd/Rd S-10-584 and travel about 4 miles to Bulls Island Rd. Turn left onto Bulls Island Rd.
Wambaw Creek
From the Sewee Visitor & EE Center: Drive north on Hwy. 17 North 14 miles to McClellanville. At the Yellow blinking light with the Kangaroo/BP gas station on your right at Hwy. 45, take a LEFT and go 4 miles. Look for a Francis Marion Wildlife Management area sign on your right. Go to the next dirt road after this sign and turn RIGHT onto Millbranch 211. Go 3.3 miles down Millbranch and turn LEFT onto Millbranch B or follow signs to Stillboat Landing.
Nature Adventures Outdoors Center
8257 N Highway 17 McClellanville, SC 29458. Approximately 8.1 miles from the Sewee Visitor & EE Center. Drive north on Highway 17 North. Turn right onto Reverend Perry Road. There will be a blue and white sign and Yellow Flag saying "Adventure Center". Drive down until you see a sign that says “Conference Center” with an arrow pointing to the left. Turn left and park at the Center.From McClellanville at the intersection of Hwy 17 and Hwy 45, drive South on Highway 17 for approximately 6 miles, passing Buck Hall Recreation Center on the left. NAO Center is about ½ mile south of Buck Hall on the left. There is no break in the center median so continue to the next break and do a u-turn.
